Old siding that's warped, faded, or rotted in multiple spots usually costs more to keep patching than to replace outright — we'll tell you honestly which situation you're in.
Every tear-off includes a moisture reading on exposed sheathing before new material goes up, not just a visual glance.
Hidden rot gets caught and priced before it's covered back up, not discovered years later as a bigger problem.
Full removal and disposal is handled by insured crews familiar with Summit, NJ disposal and permitting requirements.
We carry the liability coverage a full tear-off project requires, not just a repair-scale policy.
Local estimators can typically get to your home within days, not weeks, for a full replacement quote.
We prioritize homes with visible widespread damage or active leaks ahead of routine scheduling.
Tear-off, disposal, sheathing contingency, and new material are itemized separately on one written estimate.
If hidden damage is found mid-project, you approve that specific cost before we proceed — no blanket change orders.
A proper replacement means the wall behind the siding gets checked, not just covered over with something new.
Every old panel, trim piece, and fastener comes off and gets hauled away — nothing left leaning against your fence for a week. We sweep magnetic nail-finders across the yard afterward so stray fasteners don't end up in a mower or a bare foot.
This step gets skipped by crews trying to move fast — it's the one that actually prevents repeat problems. Plywood or OSB sections get matched in thickness to the original sheathing, not just whatever's on the truck.
Old, torn house wrap left in place under new siding defeats the point of replacing the siding at all. Window and door openings get flashed before the wrap goes on, not patched around afterward.
New panels go up to manufacturer spec once the wall behind them is confirmed sound. We double-check local wind ratings against the chosen material before finalizing the order.
Rotted fascia and worn soffit panels get replaced alongside the siding so the whole exterior gets addressed at once. Soffit vents get sized for the attic space above, not just swapped for a matching look.
We'll ask a few quick questions to gauge scope before scheduling the on-site visit.
We look at attic and interior walls too, since moisture problems often show there first.
We flag any sheathing repair that's likely needed based on what's visible, so the estimate isn't a surprise later.
Daily site cleanup keeps nails and scrap out of your yard throughout the project.
They found rotted sheathing behind a section that looked fine from the outside — glad it got caught before new siding went over it.
Quote broke out tear-off, sheathing contingency, and new material separately, so we knew exactly what we were paying for.
Crew cleaned up every evening, which mattered since we have young kids playing in the yard after school.
Full re-side took about ten days including a sheathing repair we didn't expect, and the price didn't move once they found it — covered under the original contingency.
